Have you ever been mesmerized by Arizona sunsets? Even if you’ve never painted before, this fun class will help you create your impression of one. Tissue paper will be painted in gorgeous colours, dried and torn into strips or pieces. Glueing down and overlapping them will result in depth and glorious sunset beauty. You will be amazed at how your painting comes to life when you add some cactus, rock formations, mesas, etc. The creativity comes from the mind of the artist.

Materials:

• Students need to bring a blow dryer
• A picture from a magazine, postcard or calendar of a sunset in the desert would be very helpful to work from.

Objectives:

1. Student will leave with a completed mixed media project.
