Description: Have you always wanted to be able to paint a portrait, but thought the task was too difficult to even try? Through demonstrations, discussions, and one-on-one assistance, participants will learn the essentials to a painting a successful portrait. While paying attention to sound value structure, and strong composition, mixing flesh tones and combining loose brush strokes with fine detail will also be emphasized. All painting styles are welcome, from abstract to photo realism.
Bio: Cheryl has always had a passion for art, and specifically portraits. She studied and practiced art through primary and secondary schools, graduated from college with a BA degree in Fine Art, attended the Southern Oregon Academy of Art, and studied extensively at the Scottsdale Artists’ School. Her work has been shown nationally and received numerous awards. She has been teaching since 2009, and beside teaching in Arizona, she also teaches workshops in Oregon
