Colored Pencil Drawing

Description:
Maximum 20 Minimum 10 The class will focus on three basic techniques for layering color and blending colored pencils. Each session will have a different project with a separate list of colored pencils. The instructor will provide paper, photos, and instruction booklets.
Session 1 Cherries
Learn the basics in this class so you will be able expand your colored pencil skills. Students will learn the fundamentals on how to draw the form of a subject, layer vibrant colors and blend colors using burnishing techniques.
Session II Reflective Silver
Students will gain confidence in achieving the illusion of reflective surfaces by drawing the shine of silver and the sheen of an apple. Students will learn how to choose a toned paper that helps the color application process move along faster, blend easier with solvents, establish an underpainting, and achieve greater detail.
Session III Portrait Basics
Students will learn how to draw eyes that capture emotion, build lively skin tones, and draw hair. Try out the latest equipment in blending tools, an Icarus Board! It provides a little bit of heat so that your wax-based pencils will blend easier. After this class, you will be able to start drawing your children and grandkids in no time!
Materials:
- Session 1 Cherries
- Prismacolor Colored Pencils—White, Crimson Red, UltramarineBlue, Crimson Lake, Canary Yellow, Orange, and a 2H graphite pencil. Also, please bring a pencil sharpener, kneaded eraser
- Session II Reflective Silver
- Odorless solvents will be provided by the instructor.Supplies:Prismacolor Premier Pencils-White, Black, Eggshell, 20% French Grey, 50% French Grey, 70% French Grey, 50% Cool Grey, 70% Cool Grey, Light Aqua, Peacock Green, Sepia, Black Cherry, Terra Cotta, Pumpkin Orange, Mineral Orange, Sienna Beige, Henna, Raspberry, Carmine Red, Poppy Red, Crimson Lake, Canary Yellow, Lemon Yellow and 2H graphite pencil.. Also, please bring a pencil sharpener, kneaded eraser, and roll of masking tape
- Session III Portrait Basics
- Supplies:Prismacolor Premier Pencils--White, Black, Black Grape, Indigo Blue, Jade Green, 20% Cool Grey, 50 % Cool Grey, 70% Cool Grey, Pumpkin Orange, Chestnut, Henna, Pink, Peach, Deco Peach, Dark Brown, Sepia, Cream, Canary Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Artichoke, True Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Dark Green, and a Colorless Blender. Also, please bring a2H Graphite Pencil, a pencil sharpener, kneaded eraser, and roll of masking tape
Objectives:

- Strategies for techniques will be discussed through demonstration and step-by-step instruction.
- Students will be able to draw along with the instructor and follow along with a full color booklet.
- When you complete your drawing, you will almost believe you can pick the cherries right off your paper!
